About LDIF

Lancashire Disability Information Federation aims to directly promote the effective dissemination of information to disabled people, carers and service providers by encouraging and supporting local organisations of disabled people; and to provide related services to assist its members. Services include advice on constitutional matters, Charity Registration, monitoring and evaluation as well as many other aspects of running a Voluntary Organisation.

LDIF also organises training courses covering a variety of subjects such as DDA, Disability Awareness, Health and Safety etc.

LDIF operates an Access Audit service to ensure the DDA is adhered to and not abused.

LDIF’s Role

LDIF offers its members advice and support in the day-to-day operation of services. It identifies gaps in provision of services and encourages disabled people to provide services to fill those gaps.

It monitors the work of groups throughout the County and organises events where representatives of official groups can get together and find out what is happening in other areas. One of the big advantages of the Network and contacts with other Information Providers is the mutual support that can be offered simply by making a phone call to someone in a similar position as yourself. LDIF produces a quarterly newsletter, as well as hosting conferences and creating networking opportunities.
